not the messiah: he's a very naughty boy

Celebrating 40 years of  Monty Python!

A fabulously entertaining 90 minute comic oratorio by Eric Idle and John Du Prez (creators of Spamalot), inspired by Monty Python’s Life Of Brian and filmed at its only European performance at the Royal Albert Hall in October 2009 to celebrate 40 years of Monty Python. This hilarious take on the Messiah features the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, a host of superb soloists in the lead roles including Rosalind Plowright and Eric Idle, with Michael Palin as Mrs Betty Parkinson and special guest appearances from Pythons Terry Jones and Terry Gilliam. And of course three sheep!
Like Handel only funnier.

Strictly limited sessions from July 31st. Tickets $20 Adult, $18 Concession

The North Hobart Picture Palace reveals it deepest darkest secrets!

Do you have any pictures or articles about the State Cinema; or as it was once called, The Liberty Theatre, or the North Hobart Picture Palace? Perhaps you have a story about the theatre that can be written down? Our local historian, Bill, is busy compiling information about the theatre from its opening on Thursday, 2nd of October, 1913, to the present day. He will eventually produce from this a small book, to be released on our centenary in 2013. If you have something to contribute, we would appreciate it if you could please email Bill at: billclyde@y7mail.com
